Creative space, sisters, and more

The four-day weekend sure flew by. I'm feeling pretty good because I finally organized my creative space. It was getting out of control with bits of paper, felt pens, colored pencils, stencils, inks ... well, you get the idea.

Yesterday the electricity was out for most of the day, so I spent several hours working on my artist trading cards. It was wonderful having my supplies easily accessible in plastic drawers instead of having to paw through folders and bags.

I recently won a giveaway from Photo.Dog.Knit , and the yarn arrived this weekend. Thanks, Lina! It's Sqooshy Sock Yarn from Fiberphile. It's lovely yarn, but I'm not sure yet what I will knit with it. I saw the cutest knit socks at Thimbleanna and Maiden Jane , but I'm not sure I have the skills.

I'm so proud of both my sisters. Lisa is participating in the Loosely Gathered Holiday Art & Craft Show next weekend. This is the first time she'll be offering her paintings to the general public, and I think it's an act of bravery when an artist chooses to put her work out there, especially when it's deeply personal. If you'd like to see more of Lisa's paintings and read about her creative process, please check out her blog, Feltypants: Art & Artifacts.

My younger sister Hilary recently founded a non-profit called Community Counseling Connection to facilitate connections between mental health professionals and the public through education and other activities. This is a valuable service, and Hilary inspires me with her courage to start this project and her amazing business skills. Please check out her blog!

Hope you have an excellent week.

I need to do the same thing! I am hoping with the sorting of Christmas goodies pehaps my craft supplies will get organized too. I have some things to make and it sure makes it easier when you can lay your hands on items quickly! Your Sister is quite talented and I hope she has good luck at the Art show! Have a blessed day!

I love how organised you are, I really need to get stuck in and organise my space, my workroom is almost finished, I can't wait... Good luck to your sister!

Thanks for the shoutout! I am sure you can tackle socks! The yarn is beautiful. I bought some sock yarn - Dream in Color Smooshy because I'm dying to make Damson. It uses one skein of sock yarn. I'll let you know how it goes.

You must come from a great family to have so much talent in the family. I will check out your sis's blog - what a wonderful service to the community.

Isn't it nice to have your art/creative space neat, tidy and organized. My space is so small I am forced to keep it organized but as you already know that is how I am...a little compulsive maybe.

That is so nice of you to write about you sisters. I hope they both do well with their projects.

Looking forward to receiving your ATC for December. I mailed mine today.

Nice yarn!

You definitely have the skills to knit those socks! They're just straight stockinette stitch, except for the heels and toes. Give it a go, and yell if you need any help!

Wow I give you credit in organizing your things...
If I get it into boxes and off the floor or table or kitchen counter...I consider that as organized as I'll get
maybe this year I can turn over a new leaf...not
Loved the color of that yarn
so happy for your sisters!

wow - can you come over and clean up my sewing room now, Stacy? You did such a great job on your craft area and I really could use the help haha.
I hope Lisa does well at the craft sale. How proud you must be of both of your sisters - they are so creative and talented. I know they must be proud of you too! I'm sure you could master those socks with no problem!

Organization sure makes a difference in getting things done. I need to spend a week just doing that and NOTHING else. So hard to find that week, I know it would make my life easier though.

I'm going to check out your sisters' blogs. Sounds like you also have 2 amazing sisters. I'm the oldest of 3 girls in my family. What position are you?

Hope you enjoyed a lovely thanks giving. I love your orgnaisation and the storage is great. What a super set of sisters you are and so much talent amongst you all. What a great team! Thanks for sharing your sister's blog. I've been hoping she would start one for a while now and share her art. It is all so beautiful. I'm a follower now! :) The community counseling connection sounds brilliant too. It is lovely how you can all learn from each other.
