The view from the back steps

A few weeks ago it seemed as though spring was here.

Trees were blooming, birds were singing and the sun was shining.

And then winter returned. This was the view from the back steps after days and days of torrential rain and cold. It's always a treat to see snow on the mountain tops because it doesn't happen very often.

And look at what might be coming:

With apologies to my friends in the mid-west, east coast, Canada and other countries who are sick to death of cold and snow, I have to say ...

YAY!!!

(We almost never get sea level snow here.)

That is so funny! Right about now, all of "us" are done - ready to be rid of the snow. The last round was a doozy since it was icy!

What lovely views you have. At least you have the promise of spring. We had a tease last week but we are back to winter and have a good month to go!

You can have the snow! I'm sure it's exciting to see and play in when you only get the fluffy white stuff occassionally! I love it in Nov-Dec...it feels festive...after that bring on Spring! Your photos are gorgeous!

Enjoy it. And if you ever get a hankering for more, you can come and spend SIX months of winter up here. Ugh.

I hope you get a dusting of white stuff down at sea level. They've been 'threatening' the same here off and on for a number of weeks, but nothing. We had a nice snowfall way back in November and yesterday there was snow on Vancouver Island and in Seattle, but nothing in Vancouver. :(
Our local mountains look beautiful but it would be nice to get one more taste of winter before spring sets in.

I love love those blossoms. I am getting so so so excited to see the Dogwood Blossoms this spring.
The snow. The snow. It is so pretty on the foothills. Looks like it is all going to pass by SF.
Teresa was suppose to leave Truckee this morning but HWY 80 is closed due to snow and wind and poor visibility. Hopefully she can leave soon. She is spending the weekend with us in SF. While waiting I am sewing Fanny. Oh boy am I obsesses with doll making or what!!!! Are you worried about me???
Hugs and love, Dogwood
Have a fun weekend. Any plans?

Thanks for your wonderful spring pictures. I should be seeing that in my backyard in about a month or so if we are lucky!
