Knitty gift

Did you have a nice Mother's Day? I hope so. My family came over for a potluck brunch and we had lots and lots of delicious food. I'm not much of a cook, but most of the deviled eggs that I made disappeared, so they must have been okay. I tried a new recipe with horseradish that I wasn't too sure about.

Tomorrow is my friend Cathy's birthday, so tonight I wrapped up two hand knit wash cloths and a bar of good-smelling soap for her. (I'm pretty sure she won't read this tonight and see her surprise.)

That White Tea soap from Cost Plus smells SO good I bought some for me, too.

I am ready for a juicy new knitting project and finally decided on the Multnomah shawl from Hello Knitty with my Misti Alpaca yarn that I adore. It's a fun knit.

For those of you in the states, do you watch American Idol? This is the second season I am hooked on it. Now that we're down to four it's pretty exciting. I've been rooting for Crystal, but I'm okay with Lee or Casey winning.

Well, off to watch Idol and work on my shawl. Talk to you again soon.

Beautiful gift! There is just something so special about a handmade gift. Love the color of the washclothes and the new yarn is gorgeous, looks like sunshine:)

I watch Dancing with the Stars but not American Idol. Have a blessed day my friend! HUGS!

What a lovely gift! The shawl is so pretty. I love the feather and fan edging...so simple but elegant.

I'm always behind the popular things....so we didn't watch Idol until 5 years after it started....this year we switched over to Dancing With the Stars because my daughter likes Evan so much. I did watch Idol last week because I love Harry Connick! (I heard that he was a ratings bust...see, I'm not in with what's popular!) The Idol contestants didn't grab out attention, I miss Paula and don't think Ellen adds much to the show. However, it is generally good, clean, family fun - something even Dancing is not (with those costumes and dances...)

Hi Stacy,
That is a sweet gift for your friend.
I don't watch Idol, daughter and Grand do :)
I do love deviled eggs and have used horseradish too! I like a little "kick" that it adds.
I'm finished with my ATC and will get in it the mail this weekend.
Warmly,
deb :)

Nice post. What fun to have your family over for Mother's Day.

Nice hand made gift for your friend.

Your knitting is so beautiful and I love all the yarns that you choose.

Eric does not have a TV so My Sissy was emailing me as the results come in.

See you real soon.

What a nice gift you made. I hope she loves it!

I don't watch American Idol, so I won't comment on that. Haven't watched much of anything lately...

I love knitty gifts. As a former soapmaker (not that I don't still make it, but not as often), I got into the habit of giving handmade soap with knit washcloths as gifts. And I think they are really the most wonderful presents! (These days I've seen some soaps at the store that are fantastic, so those are just as good as homemade ones.)
