My art studio is coming along ...

I've been working on my art studio (also known as my bedroom), trying to set up a more organized, inviting space. It's not finished, but it's coming along.

I'm enjoying having a dedicated place to do my crafts. I just wish I had more time to spend there.

These clear plastic containers work well for odds and ends. It's nice being able to see what's inside.

And I finally hung this wooden frame with a wire grid I bought at Pier One ages ago. It's been in my closet so long I almost got rid of it. I'm so glad I didn't.

While working in my art studio the other night, cutting out words from book pages for an artist trading card, I discovered I'd accidentally created this tiny collage in the lid of a container. It reminded me that I don't always have to work on paper or canvas.

I hope you're having a good week. I've been in a great mood this week, feeling extra happy about my job and apartment and life in general. It's nice to wake up smiling :-)

I think I see Charlie on your work table in your art studio (aka the bedroom). Love the Pier I display hanging above your work space.

Doesn't it feel good to smile and be happy!

Hugs, Dogwood

Yes, Dogwood, that is Charlie on my work table! He thinks it's his bed.

Thanks for your comments Theresa and Felicity. It took me a long time to figure out what to do with the wire grid.

Thanks for your nice comments, Katharine. My clear containers have buttons, ribbons, mini-canvases and blank ATC cards. I want to get a few more ...

I just started working on my craft table area - also in my bedroom! My first step was just clear off the table so I can see the color of the wood underneath. What a chore. Hats off to you for keeping your sacred space, and good luck to finding more time to spend there.

I can so relate, Jill! If I'm not careful, my craft supplies expand to cover both tables and then my clothes jump from the closet on to the tables when I'm not looking. (And then my cat stretches out on top of all of it ... ) Thanks for your comment ;-)

We can get more clear storage jars when you visit me in August in Grass Valley! It is going to be so much fun. The same store that has the storage jars also has hundreds of die cuts that are free to use. I did some today! Wow, lots of fun. Dogwood~just thought you would like to know that it is 97 degrees in GV today.

That sounds good, Dogwood. I'm tucking away a little extra $$$ each paycheck for the Grass Valley trip. Can't wait to see you, we will have so much fun. What did you do with the die cuts? I'm not sure what those are.

Yikes, 97 degrees ... could you ask them to turn down the temp the weekend I'm there?
